Q&A

Q: What is the requirement of the surface?

A: Our peel and stick tiles are suitable for any surface that is flat and smooth. Before installation, please make sure that the surface is dry, clean, oil-free and dust-free.

If the surface is rough, we'd highly recommend using extra construction glue on the back of the adhesive.

Q: How can I reposition the tile after putting them on the wall?

A: Repositioning the tiles once applying pressure could be a headache, but the detergent-water can save you from there:

Fill a 500ml-750ml bottle with water and add 1-2 teaspoon(s) of mild dish detergent. Spray a small amount of the water-detergent mixture on the dhesive and spread it with your hand over the whole surface. Adding the liquid will allow you to perfectly adjust the tile on the wall by delaying the adhesion process.

Although the detergent-water can delay the adhesion process, we still strongly suggest plan the tile layout beforehand on the wall using white chalk or pencil.

Q: What is the safe distance between tiles and flame?

A: The safe distance depends on the material of the tile surface. Below please check out the safety distance if installing tiles behind the stove/oven:

  • PVC tiles: 8 inches
  • Metal tiles: 6 inches
  • Glass tiles: 6 inche

Q: Can I install the peel and stick tiles in the bathroom?

A: Yes, the tile surface is 100% waterproof. BUT it's important to seal off all gaps or voids to prevent the bottom of the tiles being moistured, since humidity would weaken the stickiness of the backing adhesive.

Q: What tools will be the best to cut the tiles?

A: That depends on how do you want the tiles to be cut:

  • Cut straight edges: You can use a utility knife and snap apart manually or with pliers
  • Cut through tiles or make a hole: chop saw, jig saw, or rotary tools.

Q: Can I put the peel and stick tiles over an existing kitchen backsplash?

A: Yes, you can use it on an existing backsplash directly, but make sure the surface is clean and leveled, and smooth.

Q: Are these tiles easy to remove?

A: Our backing adhesive is so strong that hardly can you remove the tiles once it's on. But there's a technique - you could use a hair dryer to warm up each tile to soften the adhesive and pull softly starting with the corners, then use a cleaning product to wash the wall and remove any excess glue left by the tiles.

Q: How can I clean and maintain the peel and stick backsplash?

A: Simply use a sponge to restore the tiles shine. Use a mild non-abrasive household cleaning products such as dish soap, cream cleanser or glass cleaner.

Q: Could I use this as a countertop if I put an epoxy sealant over top?

A: Yes, you can! Actually there have been many of our customers using our peel and stick tiles as a countertop.
